HUGS is a new childcare centre in the south of Malta, proudly serving the communities of Ghaxaq, Zejtun, Marsaxlokk, Marsascala, Birzebbuga, Tarxien and other nearby villages. Our mission at HUGS Childcare Centre is to provide high quality childcare for all families in a warm, nurturing, loving and educational environment. The word HUGS has been chosen on purpose because it simply means "an act to express affection" and that is exactly what we want to express towards the children - AFFECTION. Taking care of them while having fun, develop skills, learn, play and interact socially with other children in a safe and pleasant environemnt is our top priority.
The Manager
HUGS ChildCare Centre is managed by one of its owners and founders, Gloria Borg. Gloria has been a teacher by profession and she has 20 years experience working with children in the State’s Primary and Special Needs schools. Recently Gloria acquired a Management Diploma to enhance her knowledge about the sector.
As parents, Gloria and her husband made use of childcare services for their kids as well, therefore Gloria has first-hand knowledge of what parents expect for their kids from a childcare setting.
Gloria’s management objective is to provide an environment that will allow children to feel good about themselves, approach challenges with optimism, explore their world with confidence and competence, and ultimately reach their full potential.
